This battle site from 1836 is where American folk legends Davy Crockett and James Bowie died. Now it’s a historical museum in the Alamo Plaza Historic District, as well as being part of the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Site. This historic district was build originally to educate the local American Indians after they’d converted to Christianity. While it wasn’t always pretty, don’t let this attractions past deter you. It’s a wonderful piece of Texas history, and before you go, don’t forget to stop in the gift shop to see all the interesting things they have to offer.

You can drive or walk through its windy paths and explore the original 1700’s Villa de Bejar outpost, known now as the city of San Antonio. Visit the Arneson River Theater, Marriage Island, HemisFair Park and the city’s five Spanish colonial missions. You can enjoy river tours by boat, and River Walk is said to even have a romantic atmosphere. It’s the perfect place for a date, night or day!

It’s located in Northwest San Antonio, and during different seasons they have different themed attractions, especially spooky season. This particular park’s trademark is the Screw Drop, which stands 205 tall and can be spotted even form outside the park. Inside though, there are tons of other roller coasters, rides and other attractions to keep you busy.

San Antonio Zoo

Located in Brackenridge Park, this 50+ acre attraction hosts over 750 species of animals, and attracts over 1 millions visitors each year. There are also other attractions, such as the train rides, which first opened in 1956. Guided tours will introduce you to the lay of the land, while the zoo keepers explain their process of caring for the animals as they feed and tend to the exhibits.
